Remove grub from boot sector windows 7
Each time when the system rebooted, it tried to run the halt installed Linux. The Grub shows there is a "ntldr", but select that it will not boot up Vista at all. The only method to fix this is to boot the computer from the installation DVD. Somehow the Intel motherboard treat Grub differently. Even we set the motherboard boot sequence to boot from CD first, as long as the CD is not the Topologilinux, the motherboard would always try to boot from HDD.
Boot your system to the GRUB menu. Make two changes to this list of commands as illustrated in the menuentry above. If you do this, I'd also suggest you change the title of this "custom" entry. It will be on the bottom of the GRUB menu when you boot.
Select the Repair Your Computer entry. Walk through the next windows until you reach System Recovery Options. So what do you think I can do? Should I use bootrec and then reinstall grub? You could repair the Windows boot as usual, when that's done Windows will automatically boot without even asking you Windows does not recognize Linux. What you did is you modified the VBR of the 1st partition; you may restore that by executing these commands in windows recovery mode in cmd when you boot from installation CD : bootrec.

Researching, people say that to repair boot for mbr, we should use "bootrec. Is your method the same as bootrec or different? In my experience,after Ubuntu installation as dual boot,it will be better to run Windows on reboot and do the repair by itself, then come back to Ubuntu.
