I've been looking up for the solution for the past 3 days. Nothing's been helpful. The 'catch Win32Exception' doesn't catch it. Changing paging file in virtual memory doesn't help. It's reproducible on multiple stations with various specs - every station has more than enough resources. The 3rd party app is not flooding my software with messages, it's sending messages tops while closing.
The communication is synchronous. I've tried lookign at BaseCompatibilityPreferences. The pointers to the wpf window are not null. I also checked the threading. My app only crashes after the 3rd party app is opened for more than minutes and it's almost always reproducible.
I can do a ton of operations within 10 minutes, close the app and everything works fine but I can just open the app, do nothing for 15mins and it crashes my software while closing the app. Any idea what debugging strategy I could use to diagnose the problem?
Any additional data I can provide? We just had the same sort of issue with one of our applications. After much research and trial and error, the problem boiled down to blocking the main thread with Process. Thanks in Advance. In short increasing the Page File size should be enough to get rid of the error I had the same error a while ago and after increasing the Page File size it went away!
WPF is hooking the AppDomain exit logic. Unhandled exceptions from this call back result in process failure. There is no way for us to hook this call. I've actually brought this up to the CLR team because it's one of many cases where we keep getting bitten by unhandled exceptions from AppDomain exit. In short : Process exit is called directly in the form For example with Environnement.
